FAQS

Below are answers to the frequently asked questions we receive from property owners interested in our service:

How much will I earn?
Fees vary depending on the location of your property, the type of project and the number of vehicles expected. With our knowledge of industry budgets we will command an appropriate fee for your property depending on these factors. Fees can vary from £500 to £3000 per day. A one day or one off event or large scale feature film shoot pay upto five times as much as this, so there is no exact rule of thumb.

Will my property get damaged?
Occasionally there are accidents but that is why we will not allow any production access to a property without them signing a hire agreement, providing insurance and paying the fee plus a damage / waste deposit in advance.

How many vehicles should I expect to see at my property?
Vehicle numbers vary depending on the type of project. A TV Drama crew may have up to 12 facilities trailers and 30 – 35 cars where as a feature film may have as many as 20 facilites trailers and 50 crew cars. A commercial or music video could have as little at 3 – 4 trailers and 10 – 15 cars.

How should I photograph my property?
Ideally you should take photos from left to right from the corner of the property trying to show as wide a view as possible. In addition to this you should take photos of the access to the property and your property's position in relation to the road. Property owners who take advantage of our FREE Premium Package Service, will benefit from having their properties or property proffesionally photographed by us. Click here to read more about the Premium Package and how this service maximises your property's exposure to the creative industries.

Do I have to cease other business on site for the day?
This entirely depends on the size of the site and the amount of space used up by the production. If the production company are only hiring half your site then you are of course free to continue trading on the other half of the site. It is of course your decision as to whether the hiring the space as a unit base on any given day is worth more to you than the regular trade that the site might provide.

Do I have to accept all the enquiries Unitbase come to me with?
No, it’s completely up to you which projects you take on. We would however require you to confirm that you are happy for a production to use your property before a recce is arranged so we do not misuse the time of a production company.
